Dietec UK - Specialist Avian Supplies is a small United Kingdom avicultural supplies company owned and run by Mr Stephen Beaver. Stephen, a keen bird keeper and wild bird enthusiast for over 35 years founded Dietec UK in 2000 after working for Bartholomew’s Agra Foods for many years. Stephen’s role overseeing the research and development work carried out at Bartholomew’s on many well known bird food diets including the popular Avian Specific and Colonel's range of bird food products provided essential knowledge when it came to running my own company and providing customer advice on the many dietary issues that arise. Dietec UK - Specialist Avian Supplies warehouse is situated in the popular coastal seaside resort town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Dietec UK - Specialist Avian Supplies was initially set-up with the sole aim of providing products to the many local bird keepers and wild bird enthusiasts who all hopefully required top quality bird-foods and related avicultural accessories for either the cage and aviary birds in their care or the various wild birds visitors found in their gardens. It was not long however before bird enthusiasts from other parts of the United Kingdom started to contact me to ask if I could supply and send bird foods and accessories for their birds also, so after a short period of time the mail order side of my business was created to enable me to accommodate for their requirements also. Over the last 5 years the bird market has changed such a lot. When I first started my business the main sales income came solely from breeders of parrots and other small seed-eaters such as budgies, canaries and finches, but over the last few years as fewer birds are being kept for breeding and showing purposes so my business has had to adapt to accommodate for the new market trends which are now almost 70% pet bird orientated orders with a much smaller number of orders from the ever declining bird breeder fraternity.

Cage and Aviary Bird Foods
Dietec UK provides bird lovers with a comprehensive selection of avicultural items for both pet and breeding birds. Our selection of top quality cage and aviary bird diets includes a comprehensive range of birdseed mixtures. Our birdseed mixture range comprises of a wide selection of ready-made diets for all kinds of seed-easting species from the smallest tropical finches to the largest parrots, cockatoos and macaws. To accompany our bird seed mixture range is a comprehensive selection of supplementary food items, including egg-foods, hand-rearing formulas, live-foods, straight seeds, nuts, fruits and berries plus an extensive choice of vitamins and supplements for all bird species. Dietec UK also stocks a wide range of soft-bill and insectivore diets along with a small selection of nectar diets for lorikeets and humming bird etc.

Cage and Aviary Bird Accessories
To complement my range for cage and aviary bird foods I also stock a large selection of avicultural accessories for use with either pet or breeding birds irrespectively. This range includes a large selection of bird toys ideal for bird species ranging form small seed-eaters to large parrots, cockatoos and macaws. Other accessories include bird cage perches, incubators, brooders; air filters systems, pest control products, feeding utensils including food and water bowls and swing feeders etc. Shortly however I am planning to be able to provide a much larger selection of avicultural accessories including parrot cages and stands as I am in the final stages of selling my bird collection. My collection of conures takes up the whole of the top floor of my warehouse, so once all of my birds have finally gone I can then dismantle all of my aviaries. This will provide me with an extra 100 feet of storage space to house all of my new products.

Wild Bird Foods
As previously mentioned my business (Dietec UK) can be divided into two distinctive parts i.e. Garden bird supplies and Cage and aviary birds. The Garden bird section of my website offers customers a wide selection of wild bird foods to attract a varied selection of different kinds of wild bird species into your garden to feed. The large selections of wild bird food mixtures we provide (seven in total) are available in a number of different sizes to suit your individual requirements. The range of plain straight foods we offer includes popular items such as standard peanuts, premium peanuts, chopped peanuts, niger seed, black sunflower seed, sunflower kernels (hearts), sultanas and pinhead oats. The live-foods we offer such as regular mealworms, mini mealworms, earthworms and waxworms are shipped directly form our suppler to ensure freshness; the dried mealworms however are dispatched from our warehouse direct. Fat products such as small fat balls, large fat balls peanuts cakes and suet cakes are also available from the website. Fat products have always been one of my best selling wild bird food products, and are available in a number of quantities to suit your requirements.

Wild Bird Accessories
To accompany my range of wild bird’s foods I can also offer a comprehensive selection of wild bird feeders. The wild bird feeder range I keep in stock are supplied by several leading companies such as Droll Yankee, Droll Yankee garden bird feeders offer a comprehensive selection of feeders for dispensing popular wild bird food items such as birdseed mixtures, peanuts, niger seed or straight seeds such as sunflower kernels. The New Generation range of Droll Yankee wild bird feeders are available in a number of different colours and sizes to suit your individual requirements, the range offers feeders for dispensing seed, peanuts, or niger seed, as well as a popular feeder intended to attract gold-finches into your garden. The goldfinch feeders are yellow in colour, yellow is believed by Droll Yankee to attract (goldfinches) to the feeders. The goldfinch feeders are available in four different sizes from a small four point feeder up to a giant 20 feeding point version. All the feeders in the Droll Yankee New Generation range are made to the highest standards, they are durable, easy to re-fill and come with a lifetime guarantee. Other types of garden bird feeders I keep in stock include feeders for fat balls (large or small) suet cake feeders and live-food feeders, these feeders are purchased from a number of different suppliers and can be used in-conjunction with my range of wild bird fat products or live-food items.
